I FINALLY FOUND LOVE
Back in 2018, I was once engaged to someone I thought would be my forever. I was over the moon! The thought of marrying one of my best friends (we've been friends for 10 years!) was something I considered a magical thing I could ever ask for. However, the relationship went south, the true colour shown, and the next thing I knew, I was badly abused, traumatised, and hurt.
My world collided.
I was at my happiest yet saddest self that year. I felt like I had everything I ever wished for in both hands yet felt so miserable and unworthy at the same time.
As if it wasn't enough, covid-19 happened and changed everybody's life. All plans were nothing but messy notes.
I fell into the deepest pit of the depression hole. I didn't see the lights for years. I was severely depressed and anxious. I was suicidal.
Until, the end of 2022.
After two years of a healing journey (intensive therapy and medication, yoga and meditation), I stood on my own feet again. It's easier to see my reflection in the mirror. It's easier to talk to other people outside my family. It's easier to pick my phone up and actually use it to communicate with friends. It's easier to dress up and hang out with someone - just the two of us.
My healing journey is not finished yet but...
I finally found love.I finally found myself.
The first morning I decided to actually get ready - did my skincare routine and put some makeup on, I felt more alive. I could see colours on my skin again. I could see bright lights in my eyes and it was one of the happiest days of my life!
I hugged myself and said, "after all we've been through, I'm thankful you are still here. I'm grateful you didn't give up!".
We often forget that the love we have for ourselves is the most important of all. We have that love within us and all we need to do is to open our arms wider and accept the love for whatever it is.
