MOVIE | WHAT I WATCH THIS MONTH

Gosh, I haven't done any movie reviews for ages! I was either too busy, too caught up with life, or too depressed :')
Anyway, the month of July was such a blessing for movie lovers! We got three long-awaited movies. THREE!
Ok, first of all, the hype for Barbenheimer is so hilarious. All the tweets and memes are so ridiculous I love them! Feel free to send your favourite memes to me ;)
Second of all, the behind the scenes for Mission Impossible are so damn amazing! I love watching the filmmaking process, so fascinating! The part when Tom Cruise asked the director for him to redo the motorcycle off the hill scene is so insane - like he was so chill about that while the director was holding to his dear life starring at the actor in disbelief.
Anyway, here are my short, spoiler-free reviews for Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning (pt1) and Barbenheimer. Enjoy!
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning (Part 1) - 9/10Director: Christopher McQuarrie
Insane. This movie kicked off with an intense scene opener, and that's really clever! I love when directors shift this way. The storyline is a little bit on a slow pace as they're splitting the film into two parts, also something I appreciate a lot instead of rushing it. The production of this movie is huge, the CGI is just a work of art! But what I love the most about the production is the sound editing - it's so much better than the previous movie, so neat and clean, especially during the intense scenes!
Ok, let's talk about girls' power! The women in this film are amazing!!! Who stuns the most in this film is Rebecca Ferguson. She has shorter screen time than in the previous movie (she's a supporting role, so fair enough), but managed to steal the star! The way she portrayed Ilsa is beautiful - Ilsa's facial expression and resonance are magnificent! I also love to see how Pom Klementieff's character is one of the bad guys here. She's charming!
Overall, I love this film and looking forward to seeing part 2 next year!
Barbie - 7.5/10Director: Greta Gerwig
I've been waiting for this movie since the day it was announced! I also have high expectations solely because of Greta's previous works. In the past, her previous works live up to my expectations. But it wasn't this time. Barbie is an okay film for me. 
I love how Margot Robbie's Barbie is so assertive, how Simu Liu's Ken is so cheeky and Kate McKinnon's Barbie is so hilarious. Also, the production of this film is amazing, the house, the costume, the soundtrack, everything is fabulous! The details are absolutely beautiful! Do you notice how Margot Robbie's Barbie almost always have stiff hands and she rarely blinks?
However, the storyline is somewhat strange and bland. I understand it is a fun, easy movie to watch, but some things are just too strange and somehow degrading to men. Overall, I like this movie but not my favourite Greta Gerwig's work.
Oppenheimer - 9.5/10Director: Christopher Nolan
WOW!I have no words to describe how wonderful this film is. Everything about this film screams perfection. I love every single detail in this film. At the beginning of the film, I was a bit confused as I never read anything about Oppenheimer before. The storyline built up slowly and nicely which I appreciate and am sure people who never read about Oppenheimer before like me feel the same way too. Apart from telling the story of how J. Robert Oppenheimer's role in developing the atomic bomb, this film is also about the moral burden and the mental effect of making the said bomb. There's this one scene that is so horrifying when Oppenheimer got applause for his success but all he saw were burnt faces, war horror and what he heard were distorted voices. So eerie!! Apart from science, this film is also heavy on politics, how people could do such things to other people's lives. Crazy world!
I read that Nolan almost didn't use any CGI in this film, he relied on science. He and his team also worked for almost a year to edit the film and paid attention to every little detail. Again, not a surprise to me as a long-time Nolan's fangirl. No wonder everything is just so perfectly balanced.
This film will be one of the best films in history, probably one of the most important films ever made.
