It's been ages since I shared the products that I used. I wasn't in the best place to show my skin or even talked about it in 2018. There are a few reasons why. First, because I'm still struggling with hormone imbalance and it was getting worse last year when I had to battle the stress and depression over an abusive relationship. I never had acne problems before so when they started to pop out in my face, it freaked me out. It caused more stress, and of course, more acne. Second, because I'm really into my life experiences in Australia so I didn't actually spend time to write. I just wrote things that fairly easy to write and to edit. Third, because I was still trying to find the best products that actually work on me.

2018 was a real journey for me, even for skincare routine. But now, my acne was starting to clear up and I finally have enough courage to show my skin. So, without further do here's my skincare routine!

Makeup Remover

I always clean my face with micellar water even when I don't wear makeup. I really like the Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water. It's so gentle for my skin and does a really great job to take off my face makeup. However, if I wear heavier makeup or waterproof mascara, I'll use Clinique Cleansing Balm. This stuff is amazing! It melts my makeup so it's easier to take off without hurting my skin, especially in the eye area. Since last year, instead of using cotton pads, I use Face Halo because it is environment friendly, the material is really soft (have to be honest, softer than cotton pads when it comes to working on the skin) and of course, save a fortune on my spending because I rarely buy cotton pads now.

I have two cleansers that really helps my skin. First, my holy grail, Burt's Bees Deep Cleansing Cream. No matter what cleanser that I tried, this one has always been my favourite that I keep coming back to. The second cleanser is Lush Angel on Bare Skin. I don't use it every day, just twice a week because I find this cleanser is too harsh for my sensitive skin for daily use. It works as an exfoliant as well. But seriously, this cleanser is really good. It leaves my skin so smooth and clean.

Face Mask

I have a few different masks that I love - you can check my favourite face masks post here. But most of the time, I religiously use either Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment or Lush Mask of Magnaminty once a week. I also use a sheet mask every two or three days.

This lady is a new addition to my routine, it is the Caudalie Vinopure Clear Skin Purifying Toner. My goodness, this stuff is amazing! It really helps the problem area to clear out and smooth the rest of my face.

Facial Mist

I have different facial mist for morning and night time. In the morning, I like to use Caudalie Grape Water or Mario Badescu Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater because it helps to moisturise my face. While in the night time, Mario Badescu Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea Facial Spray is my favourite. Aloe and cucumber are great to boost hydration and cooling effect while green tea has powerful antioxidant.

I've been trying to find the perfect serum that didn't break my skin out and gosh, it took me a while until I finally find the right one. I didn't know where have I been! Ole Henriksen Truth Serum. This serum is my lifesaver. Within 1 week, I can see the result straight away! I believe this serum is the one that really helps my skin. Purely, one true love!

This product is probably the only one that I never changed, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel. I don't like the lotion because it's sticky on my skin while the gel is perfect because it dries so quickly and leaves my skin smooth and creates a nice canvas for my makeup just like a primer. For the night time, I switch to The Face Shop Jeju Aloe Fresh Soothing Gel.

Eye Cream

I always change my eye cream because really, nothing really matters. I have really dark under eyes but because it's genetic, so no products can help. I'm currently loving Tarte Maracuja C-brighter Eye Treatment. It helps to moisturise my under eyes and works really great under makeup.

Face Oil

After moisturising my face, I like to use four drops of Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. When I had a really bad acne problem, my skin looked so dull, unhealthy and had a weird texture. This oil helped to restore the skin appearance, refined the texture and boosted the radiance. It makes my skin so soft, hydrated, and glowing. I use this oil in the morning and night time.

I know this one is like breaking the skincare rules but I don't put sunscreen or sunblock every day. I only put sunscreen if I'm going out and know that I'll be out under the sun. The reason is that no matter what brand I use, it always breaks me out. If I have to wear sunscreen, I'll use BiorĂ© UV Aqua Rich. It has SPF 50+ and doesn't leave a sticky feeling.

Every once in a month, I do facial at the beauty clinic. Also, I watch what I eat and drink, too much sugar and fried food cause acne and whiteheads!

So, what's your favourite product on your routine? Let me know!

Love, Vera
