TV SERIES | GAME OF THRONES - FINAL THOUGHTS (SPOILER REVIEW)

I started watching HBO's masterpiece back in 2011, a few months late since it aired. A friend of mine recommended this show to me. I was binge-watching and finished the show within a few days. Yep, I am crazy that way!

I love Game of Thrones! I don't think I've ever had this much patience to stay loyal and keep watching a very violent show. If you know me, you knew I hate violence at all cost. Every so often, too often even, I closed my eyes and felt sick afterwards. But the idea of this show, the complication, the characters' stories, everything about this show but the violence asked me to keep watching. So I did.

There are so many great things about this show. I'd say Game of Thrones is one of the greatest shows of all time. That being said, the plot was so fine. Yes, this show has so many characters with a different and complicated story. Drama, action, mystery, murders, and dragons. Magical isn't it?

Not only the plot but the characters development is probably the best I've ever seen in a show. It's hard to choose a favourite because everyone has their own great time to shine. Everyone came from their lowest to their highest moments and it felt like we were there. It's also hard to hate everyone because they had strong reasons to do what they did - except for Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson), that little shit. One thing that easy? Everyone was so memorable.

The acting, no doubt. The visual? What a masterpiece! They shot the entire show in Ireland and studios but truly, everything seemed like in the other world. So beautiful and magical! The same feeling that I got when I watched the Harry Potter franchise.

There are also heaps of amazing scenes/episodes. To name a few, Battle of the Bastards (S6 E9), dear Lord that was the best battle scene in history. Pardon me if there is a better battle in tv series history but truly, this war gave me a nightmare. First, it was so damn intense I barely breathed. Second, it was very violent. Next, when Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) faced off the Night King in Hardhome (S5 E8), I swore I've never prayed for a TV character before. Jon was like everybody's favourite and everyone who watched GoT knew the Night King was the supervillain (well until season 7, we'll get to that part later). And then, when Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) gave birth to dragons in Fire and Blood (S1 E10). My goodness, she embodied strength and bravery. Without knowing that she would survive the fire, she just burned herself and the dragon eggs and she did survive because the fire couldn't kill a dragon. It gave me chill! Then we had the red wedding in the Rain of Castamere (S3 E9), damn. And many more...

For the past 7 seasons, everything was so great. Not every episode was amazing, some of them were okay, a few episodes were boring, but overall, it was a great show. Until season 8 aired.

I really dislike season 8, honestly. It flushed out everything that already happened in the last 7 seasons. Every twist was there for nothing like, what's the point of Jon's resurrection then? Daenerys' effort to free all of the slaves, unsullied, brought Dothraki across the sea? Cersei's game? Arya (Maisie Williams) became no one and also her prophecy? The dragons? Jon's true identity? There are so many things that are now not making any sense because of these 6 episodes.

They even killed the Night King who was the major problem for almost 7 seasons in one night and one stab. I don't say I want the scene more violent, but at least gave the audience better battle than the Battle of Bastards because we're talking about the Night King not some random dude in Westeros. And how Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) died? By the bricks.

And who ended up in the throne? Bran Stark (Isaac Wright). What the hell. He had little to no contribution in the entire show. Yes, he was a three-eyed raven and then what? Everybody has a better story than him. Even Joffrey.

I understand that creators can't always give what the audience wants, but not this way. I was upset about how Cersei and the Night King died, I'm not mad that Daenerys died because Jon killed her. But this? Such a waste of time. They had two years to create a joke?

Game of Thrones is an epic show with a shitty last season. Shame

What do you think about the finale?
